On this Independence Day… reflecting seems so fitting.So here goes…I launched my blog… “The Space Between the Notes” in October of last year. 40 posts later, its time to take a little of my own medicine. Reflect on my own Spaces before racing to compose the Notes for #41.I’m one who believes your best when your focus is on the “windshield”… not the “rear view mirror.

”But reflection is a key to cleaning your “windshield”… so you can better see the road ahead.Thus… my reflections here.I originally launched my Blog intending to leave a legacy to my five precious, gifted, handsome, beautiful Oops! Got carried away. Grandchildren. My coach Chris challenged, “Cmon, Bob. You’re doing this because you love to write. There’s a larger audience you need to reach.”Ok. He was right. My passion is helping people grow. I’ve stopped traveling… by plane. My Blog allows me to travel through writing… by energy… make connections with others in a very different way than I did during my consulting career. Hopefully intellectually at times… a “this is me” reaction at times… but most of all emotionally when we can actually feel one another a little… or more.

If you read my Blog… usually, occasionally. I need your help as I reflect on the past 10 months. What do you think? What works for you? What doesn’t? Just few sentences or many… your thoughts, please. It’ll help me revise course. Clean my “windshield”. Be relevant for you… not as much for me.Plus I need to know if there’s anybody out there. (I’ve always been a bit “needy”). Knowing you’re there gives me the energy to keep on, do more.

Bottom Line: Whatever the endeavor. We need to pause and take stock. What’s working, what’s not. Growth is best when incremental. Don’t fear or avoid this alone time.Norman Lear the legendary producer of the comedy “All in the Family” once said, “There are two things in life I’ve always lived by… NOW and NEXT.” Now and Next.Embrace your Now… reflect periodically. Then? What’s Next… move to your next NEXT.
